Meril Absorbable Oxidized Regenerated Cellulose Woven Hemostat is a sterile, absorbable, knitted fabric made from 95–100% oxidized regenerated cellulose and 0–5% water.
It is white to pale yellow and faintly caramel-scented, with aging-related discoloration not affecting its efficacy.
The densely woven structure offers mechanical strength and is effective in the control of capillary, venous, and small arterial hemorrhage during surgeries.
Intended for use where other forms of hemostasis (ligature, pressure, etc.) are ineffective or impractical.
