Meril Filaprop (PPL60 878) is a synthetic non-absorbable, sterile monofilament surgical suture composed of isotactic crystalline stereoisomer of polypropylene, dyed with phthalocyanine blue.
Supplied as a 12mm, 3/8 circle, reverse cutting needle variant, specifically designed for ophthalmic and delicate tissue procedures.
Length: 45 cm per suture, 12 sutures per pack.
The suture is biologically inert, initially causing minimal tissue reaction and then gradual fibrous encapsulation.
Not degraded by tissue enzymes or absorbed; suitable for use in contaminated/infected wounds, with minimal suture reaction and reduced risk of sinus formation and suture extrusion.
