Meril Filaprop is a synthetic, non-absorbable, monofilament surgical suture composed of an isotactic crystalline stereoisomer of polypropylene, a synthetic linear polyolefin.
This suture is pigmented blue for enhanced visibility during surgery and is available in a variety of sizes and with different needles.
It is sterile, highly resistant to chemical and enzymatic attack, and intended for use in tissue approximation and ligation where extended suture support is required.
FILAPROP™ sutures elicit minimal acute inflammatory reaction, followed by gradual encapsulation with fibrous connective tissue.
It is packaged in less memory trays (LMT) and long folders to minimize memory effect and ensure optimal handling and knot security.
For use in soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological procedures, especially where long-term wound support is required.
