IVABRAD 5 TABLETS contain ivabradine hydrochloride, equivalent to 5 mg of ivabradine, and are indicated for the symptomatic treatment of chronic stable angina pectoris and chronic heart failure.
This medication is used in adults with normal sinus rhythm, particularly those who cannot tolerate or have contraindications for beta-blockers, or in combination when beta-blockers are insufficient.
IVABRAD 5 TABLETS are also used for pediatric patients (≥6 months) for heart failure due to dilated cardiomyopathy.
Tablets are pale orange, capsule shaped, biconvex, and film-coated.
This medicine acts by selectively inhibiting the 'funny' current (If) in the sinoatrial node, resulting in a dose-dependent lowering of heart rate.
