Telekast 4 is a chewable tablet primarily used to manage and prevent symptoms of asthma and seasonal allergic rhinitis in children, especially those aged between 2-5 years.
It contains Montelukast, which belongs to the leukotriene receptor antagonist group of medicines.
It is also indicated to help reduce breathing difficulties caused by exercise-induced bronchospasm and to relieve symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, nasal congestion, itching, swelling, and watery eyes due to allergies.
Telekast 4 works by blocking leukotrienes, chemical messengers responsible for inflammation, swelling, and mucus production in allergies and asthma.
This medicine manages symptoms but does not stop an acute asthma attack; an inhaled rescue medicine should be kept available for emergencies.
