Valent 40 Tablet contains Valsartan (40mg), an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, mainly prescribed for the management of hypertension (high blood pressure) and heart failure.
It functions by blocking the hormone angiotensin II, which normally causes blood vessels to tighten, thus resulting in relaxed and widened blood vessels. This effect helps decrease blood pressure and facilitates better heart function.
Indicated for use in adults and pediatric patients (6 years and older) for managing hypertension, prevention of cardiovascular mortality following recent myocardial infarction or left ventricular dysfunction, and reducing the risk of stroke in at-risk patients.
