Cetil 500 Tablet is an antibiotic containing cefuroxime axetil, a second-generation cephalosporin.
It is mainly indicated for treating various bacterial infections affecting the respiratory tract (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia), urinary tract, skin and soft tissue, ears (otitis media), throat, sinus, and bone.
Cetil 500 is also used in the early treatment of Lyme disease and for the prevention of infection after surgeries.
This medication functions by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death.
