It is primarily used for the prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in adults with non-valvular atrial fibrillation, and for the treatment and prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) in adults.
This medicine works by directly inhibiting thrombin, a key enzyme in the formation of blood clots.
Unlike older anticoagulants, Dabistar provides a predictable anticoagulant effect and generally does not require routine blood monitoring.
