LUPISIT D 100MG/10MG Tablet is a prescription medicine used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults whose blood sugar is inadequately controlled with metformin monotherapy.
This tablet is a combination of Dapagliflozin (100mg) and Sitagliptin (10mg)—two different antidiabetic agents.
Dapagliflozin increases urinary glucose excretion and thus lowers blood glucose levels by inhibiting SGLT2 in the kidney.
Sitagliptin inhibits DPP-4 enzyme, enhancing the effects of incretin hormones, resulting in increased insulin release and decreased glucagon levels, further improving glycemic control.
It should be taken as part of a complete diabetes management plan including diet, exercise, and regular monitoring of blood sugar levels.
Not recommended for patients with severe kidney problems, those on dialysis, or during pregnancy unless clearly necessary.
Should be used cautiously in patients with liver disease, pancreatitis history, or alcohol dependence.
