Lupisit D 50mg/5mg Tablet is a combination antidiabetic medication containing Dapagliflozin (5 mg) and Sitagliptin (50 mg).
It is used to control blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus who are inadequately managed by monotherapy with metformin and need an additional oral medication.
Both components work by different mechanisms: dapagliflozin enhances glucose excretion via urine, while sitagliptin increases insulin release by inhibiting DPP-4.
Not recommended for patients with severe kidney problems or those on dialysis.
Should be used with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and its safety in children under 18 years has not been established.
Prescription-only medication. Regular monitoring of blood sugar is advised.
