- Rcifax 400 Tablet is a prescription antibiotic containing Rifaximin 400 mg as the active ingredient[1][3][4].
- It is indicated for the treatment of gastrointestinal infections, especially traveller's diarrhoea caused by Escherichia coli (E. coli)[1][4].
- It is also used to manage hepatic encephalopathy (a complication of liver disease characterized by confusion and cognitive dysfunction)[1][3][4].
- Rcifax 400 is effective in treating irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhoea (IBS-D) in adults[1][4].
- The tablet acts locally in the gastrointestinal tract to inhibit the growth of toxin-producing bacteria[3][4].
- It is not intended for use in respiratory or urinary tract infections[1].
